How does the MAYU Swirl work?
The MAYU Swirl recreates the natural swirling movement of water as found in rivers and springs. This vortex draws in oxygen from the ambient air and promotes CO2 evaporation, which balances the pH of the water and restructures its molecules. What is structured water?
Structured water is a state of water in which the molecules are organized into an orderly hexagonal structure, similar to what’s found in nature (mountain springs, free-flowing rivers). - Connect the base to a power source using the supplied USB cable.
- Thoroughly wash the carafe before first use.
- Place the white magnetic impeller at the bottom of the carafe.
- Fill the carafe with up to 1.5 L of potable or filtered water.
- Place the carafe on the base.
- Touch the button to activate the vortex.
- Wait 7 to 10 minutes before drinking.

Does the MAYU Swirl purify water?
No, the Swirl is not a filter and it does not purify water. It aerates and structures water. We recommend using the Swirl with pre-filtered water.
Can I use the MAYU Swirl with tap water?
Although the Swirl does not filter water, if you choose to use tap water in your Swirl without prior treatment, aeration will allow volatile organic compounds such as chlorine to be released into the atmosphere much more quickly than in stagnant water. As a result, tap water will taste much better and the vortex will soften the texture of the water, making it smoother and more pleasant to drink.
Can I use the MAYU Swirl with wine or other beverages?
Absolutely! Wine is particularly well aerated with the Swirl. However, be sure to thoroughly clean the carafe and the impeller (white magnet at the bottom) after each use when using liquids other than water to avoid the buildup of organic matter.
How long should I vortex the water before drinking?
Dissolved oxygen saturation will reach around 80% after about 10 minutes of swirling in the Swirl. The longer you let the device swirl, the better. Plus, it's beautiful to watch!
How do I clean the carafe?
Maintaining the carafe means cleaning it every 4 to 5 days with dish soap (preferably eco-friendly detergent) to avoid buildup on the impeller inside the carafe.
The carafe is watertight and dishwasher safe. If you see limescale residue after regular dishwasher or hand use, don’t worry! Add a teaspoon of citric acid into the carafe and fill it with warm water. Place the carafe on your MAYU Swirl base and let it swirl until no limescale remains on the carafe walls. Empty the carafe and wash it.
How do I clean the impeller?
If you notice your impeller is stained, add a spoon of bleach to a cup of warm water and place the impeller in the solution overnight. Rinse thoroughly and wash it well with water and soap before putting it back in the carafe.
