Filtration Performance
The Coldstream MAX uses an innovative ceramic cartridge designed to provide maximum protection against a wide spectrum of contaminants while preserving the water’s essential minerals.
Triple protection barrier:
- Activated carbon core: removes chemicals, chlorine, and heavy metals
- Inner white ceramic layer: blocks bacteria, microplastics, and fine particles
- Outer blue ceramic layer: provides antimicrobial protection and captures viruses and other pollutants
Contaminants removed:
✔ Bacteria (E. coli, Legionella, Pseudomonas)
✔ Viruses (Norovirus, Rotavirus)
✔ Heavy metals (lead, mercury, chromium VI, iron)
✔ Chemicals (chlorine, chloramine, THM, VOC)
✔ Pharmaceutical residues
✔ Pesticides and herbicides
✔ Microplastics and fine particles

Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers to help you choose with confidence.
No. The AQUA Coldstream MAX is designed to work with a dedicated drinking water faucet, not the main kitchen faucet. It connects to the cold-water line using the included T-adapter, which diverts water through the filter and then to a separate faucet installed near the corner of the sink.
The AQUA Coldstream MAX is a high-performance under-sink water filtration system that delivers cleaner, better-tasting water through a dedicated faucet. It is designed to reduce a wide range of contaminants while preserving essential minerals.
The AQUA Coldstream MAX is designed to reduce bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, chlorine, chloramine, THMs, VOCs, PFAS, pharmaceutical residues, pesticides, herbicides, microplastics, and fine particles.
The Coldstream MAX uses a multi-layer ceramic cartridge with three levels of protection: an activated carbon core to reduce chemicals, dissolved contaminants and to improve taste and odour; an inner white ceramic layer to block bacteria, microplastics, and ultrafine particles; and an outer blue ceramic layer that provides antimicrobial protection and helps capture viruses and other pollutants.
No. The AQUA Coldstream MAX is designed to reduce unwanted contaminants while preserving the naturally occurring minerals in your water, such as calcium and magnesium. Unlike reverse osmosis and distillation which remove virtually everything and leave the water stripped of its natural mineral content, the AQUA Coldstream MAX Undercounter System filters more selectively so your water remains both cleaner and more balanced.
Yes. The AQUA Coldstream MAX is designed to reduce microplastics and fine particles commonly found in tap water, helping provide cleaner, better-tasting water straight from your dedicated faucet.
The filter is rated for up to 5,000 litres, but how long that lasts will vary from one household to another. Because the system provides purified water right at the sink, many households use it for nearly all daily water needs except dishwashing. In most cases, the filter will last about 6 to 12 months, depending on usage.
The AQUA Coldstream MAX installs under the sink and connects to your cold-water line. It dispenses filtered water through its own dedicated faucet, which requires a hole in the countertop near the sink. In many cases, an existing soap dispenser hole or other accessory opening can be used. Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic plumbing.
Not usually. If you are comfortable with basic plumbing, most people can install the system themselves. Everything needed is included, including the T-adapter, tubing, fittings, and dedicated faucet. Just follow the detailed instructions that can be found in the Help Center.
Yes. If the flow rate slows down, the outer surface of the filter can be gently cleaned under cold water using a clean scouring pad or sponge. This helps remove surface buildup and restore water flow. Do not use soap or chemicals, and avoid getting water into the filter outlet opening.
No. Cleaning the outer surface only helps restore flow by removing particulate buildup. It does not restore the inner carbon block core or increase the filter’s remaining capacity to reduce dissolved contaminants, so the recommended replacement schedule should still be followed.
